The 10 Wishes Charter

Plymouth Young Safeguarders have been busy reminding professionals of their Ten Wishes and what they need from all of us to help keep them safe and feel valued.

To support this and to further promote the Ten Wishes it was agreed that a Ten Wishes Charter would be created for all organisations to sign up to. This would ensure commitment to the wishes and encourage individual organisations to take responsibility for them across their practice and settings.

Signing the Charter demonstrates commitment to meeting the Ten Wishes through all work, behaviours, and actions. This can be done through embedding in training, polices, procedures and quality assurance work.

Young people produced a Ten Wishes film and booklet called ‘The Why and How’ which sets out why the wishes are important to children and young people and how we can all as individual professionals and organisations put their wishes into practice.
Please take a look and see how you can start making a difference and act on the wishes of our children and young people…it’s really important to them.

It would be great to have photos on the signed charters being displayed in your setting sent to participation.youth@plymouth.gov.uk, so we can create a ‘Ten Wishes Charter Collage’ to take back to young people to demonstrate all of Plymouth’s commitment to meet their Ten Wishes.
