Safeguarding Children With Disabilities Training

Face to Face Course Full Day 09:30 – 16:30 (Arrival and Registration between 09:00 and 09:25 for a 09:30 start)

Course Description

This course provides participants with the latest information, research and practice skills necessary to safeguard children with disabilities. It explores definitions and models alongside the particular vulnerabilities to abuse children with disabilities face. Participants will improve their communication skills and responses to children with disabilities and be made aware of a range or resources to aid practice.

How Much?

There is a cost to attend this course for all partner agencies including the statutory and voluntary sectors. Some agencies have a pre-paid funding arrangement with us meaning the cost of attendance is already covered. These are:

-Devon and Cornwall Police
-Plymouth City Council
-Devon Integrated Care Board
-City College Plymouth
-Livewell Southwest
-Plymouth Hospitals Trust
-All Children’s Centre’s
-All Childminders
-All Nursery/Pre-school Settings

If you don’t work for any of the above agencies or services the cost to attend is £85 per person.

Who’s The Course For?

This course is for all workers supporting or needing to consider the needs of children and young people with disabilities.

We aim to confirm your place via email within 5 business days of the application form being received by the PSCP, there can be a minor delay if we have a large number of applications come in at once. Please feel free to email if you are unsure on whether you have a place or not.
