Launch of the Children’s Commissioner’s National Survey – The Big Future

Dame Rachel de Souza launched the Big Future survey on 8 May 2026. The survey is open to all children and young people aged 0–18 in England and explores their views on childhood today. It asks about the changes they want to see in their communities, their main concerns, their hopes for the future, and what they think a good childhood should look like, both now and in the future.

To support participation, a range of resources are available on the Children’s Commissioner’s website, including an introductory video, lesson plan, stakeholder toolkit, and FAQs.

The survey closes on 23 October 2026, with findings due to be published next year. These will be used to inform advocacy at the highest level, focusing on solutions to the issues children say matter most to them.
