Course Description
Supporting children, young people and families is a hugely rewarding role but sometimes the sorts of conversations we need to have in safeguarding can be really difficult for a range of reasons. We might feel nervous about sharing our worries with a young person or their family or about gaining consent to share information.
This workshop explores how we can be professionally curious and have courageous conversations with families and colleagues in relation to safeguarding. The course will explore:
-What makes a conversation difficult.
-How to have curious conversations.
-How to have courageous conversations.
-How curious and courageous conversations help keep children safe and lead to better partnership working with families and colleagues.
How Much?
There is a cost to attend this course for all partner agencies including the statutory and voluntary sectors. Some agencies have a pre-paid funding arrangement with us meaning the cost of attendance is already covered. These are:
-Devon and Cornwall Police
-Plymouth City Council
-Devon Integrated Care Board
-City College Plymouth
-Livewell Southwest
-Plymouth Hospitals Trust
-All Children’s Centre’s
-All Childminders
-All Nursery/Pre-school Settings
If you don’t work for any of the above agencies or services the cost to attend is £45 per person.
Who’s The Course For?
This workshop is for all staff/volunteers across the multi-agency network in Plymouth.
