Understanding The Role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

Online Webinar 2 Hours

Course Description

Ensuring children and young people are helped and supported by safe and trusted adults is an important part of our safeguarding system. It can be really challenging when you have a concern about an adult who works with children because you might have a professional relationship with them, you might have to ‘think the unthinkable’ or hear information that will question your pre-conceptions or understanding of the person.

The role of the LADO is there to support and manage allegations against adults who work with children. Included in this group are adults in paid employment or volunteers and they can be from any organisation, agency, setting or group providing services to children.

These sessions will share information about the LADO, the advice & guidance they offer and the allegations process. We are really pleased that the session will be delivered by the Plymouth LADO who will be sharing their knowledge and expertise and respond to your questions.
