										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><span style="color: #008000;"><span style="color: #000000;">We are pleased to share that our</span> <strong style="color: #008000;">NSPCC </strong><span style="color: #000000;">colleagues </span></span>in Plymouth will be delivering their  <span style="color: #008000;"><strong>‘Sharing the Brain Story’</strong> </span>training as part of our multi agency learning offer.  These <strong>free </strong>workshops for Plymouth practitioners aim to introduce participants to a <strong><span style="color: #000000;">cutting</span> edge</strong> approach of using <strong>tested metaphors</strong> that explain the science of brain and child development and the <strong>impact of trauma</strong>. It aims to support professionals to help others think about what they can do to encourage healthy development in children and create a shared language across the Plymouth workforce around child development and to strengthen multi agency working/relationships.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">The workshops will be delivered via Microsoft Teams on the following dates:</span></p>

<p><span data-contrast="auto">Over the last year c</span><span data-contrast="auto">hildren and young people have spent much more time at home and behind closed doors, meaning that some children have been at a greater risk of abuse and neglect. </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">The impact of COVID on families has increased pressure on parenting and exasperated situations that for some were already difficult and </span><span data-contrast="auto">many </span><span data-contrast="auto">will not</span><span data-contrast="auto"> always know how to reach out for support.</span><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">The NSPCC has found that concerns about child abuse have soared since national lockdown measures were first introduced – with the average monthly number of referrals from the charity’s helpline to local authorities on the issue increasing by over 100% in the South West. </span><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}"> </span></p>
